Connected To Our Communities

LINN in the Community

At LINN Energy, we are connected to our communities. We are dedicated to working in harmony with our neighbors and place a high priority on improving the lives of people in communities where our employees live and work. Our corporate giving program is structured to support community service, health, education and arts organizations and LINN employees tirelessly dedicate themselves to worthy causes through generous support and countless volunteer hours each year.

Community Services

LINN is a strong supporter of Habitat for Humanity. In Houston, Oklahoma City and many other operating areas, employees grab their hammers and nail guns each year to build dreams for families – homes to call their own.

Via ColoriVia Colori© is an annual streetpainting festival benefiting the Center for Hearing and Speech in Houston. Through hosting employee events, encouraging volunteerism and serving as a three-year presenting sponsor of Via Colori©, LINN partners with CHS in its efforts to help thousands of Houston-area children gain listening, speaking and literacy skills – tools
they need to improve their quality of life and achieve success in society.

Health

HealthEach spring, LINN's Oklahoma City team participates in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk. Through the team's diligent fundraising efforts, employees raised $43,000 in 2013 for the AHA, ranking as a top five fundraising team for the Oklahoma City event!

A full day of contests, food and fun, LINN-O-Ween is hosted by LINN's Oklahoma City office every October and all proceeds from this annual charitable fundraising event are donated to The Children's Center, a non-profit pediatric hospital serving children with complex medical and physical disabilities. Since 2009, LINN-O-Ween proceeds totaling more than $140,000 have been donated to the Center.

LINN chief financial officer Kolja Rockov started the Texas Children's Cancer Center Casino Night event in an effort to raise funds to help children with cancer. This event raised over $400,000 in funds for the Cancer Center in 2012 and, since the inaugural event in 2009, has raised a total of more than $1.0 million.

Education

EducationLINN Energy is a proud sponsor of Bon Vivant, an event where amazing Houston chefs show their creativity through one-of-a-kind menus composed of their finest culinary creations. Since this event's inception four years ago, it has raised $625,000 to benefit the Youth Development Center's afterschool literacy program. LINN also hosts an annual holiday donation drive for the children served by the Youth Development Center to give them games, arts and crafts and other activities to keep them occupied during the winter break.

In 2012, LINN began its partnership with Science Museum Oklahoma to support programs and resources that foster children's educational growth and their interest in the sciences. LINN's funds are directed toward Museum scholarships for underprivileged youth and its outreach program, which services schools in many of LINN's operating areas across Oklahoma.

Arts

ArtsAt LINN, we believe the arts play a crucial role in providing educational and cultural experiences to communities. LINN supports numerous arts organizations that provide educational programs and activities for individuals of all ages. For the last two years, LINN has served as presenting sponsor of Mercury's Neighborhood Concert Series. This series moves the "redefined" orchestra out of downtown and into Houston neighborhoods, offering a shorter, more casual concert experience enjoyed by everyone.

Matching Gifts

LINN Gives

Each fall, during an Employee Giving Campaign, employees have an opportunity to donate to most 501(c)(3) organizations and upper level learning institutions through payroll deductions, check or credit card. These employee donations are then matched dollar-for-dollar and funds are distributed quarterly. The Employee Giving Campaign provides employees with an opportunity to support charities important to them through the convenience of payroll giving. Their charitable giving contributes to the vitality and health of communities where our employees work and live.

LINN's Matching Gifts Program, available year round, offers a dollar-for-dollar corporate match of direct employee contributions to most 501(c)(3) organizations and upper level learning institutions. This doubles the impact of these donations within communities and to organizations important to our employees.
